DesignJet T1100 repaired in Bramhall, now a short trip south to carry out a DesignJet T830 repair in Macclesfield.
Customer was having issues with his DesignJet T830 reporting a “Problem with the Ink System” on the display. It was also very noisy when cutting the media. Two very common problems indeed.
Luckily, the Ink System issue turned out to be a faulty cartridge and was easily resolved. The cutter was also an easy fix. This just required a replacement cutter installing. The plotter is now fully functional and working to its optimal best.
Completing the two repairs was not however the end of our involvement with the DesignJet. As part of our “Total Care Solution” package, a full service and clean was carried out to the plotter. This had to include a clean to the service station. Whenever this DesignJet platform has an ink system error it is imperative this is carried out.
Excessive ink builds up around the housing of the service station which can cause printhead problems and ink cartridge issues. So, a clean is good practise.
As normal, the customer was informed of the course of action. We advised the customer what was needed to cure the problem with the ink system. However, as the cutter was faulty, they agreed to a site visit for us to complete a full repair and service.
