DJ T120 Plotter Repair Middlesborough
Started the week on Monday with a nice trip to Middlesbrough in Teesside.
A new customer who had a paper jam in his DesignJet T120 24”.
With the nature of paper these things happen and are unavoidable. Unfortunately, whilst removing the jam, the paper ripped leaving several small pieces stuck under the main feed roller.
This meant he was unable to load any type of media whatsoever. Happens all the time is so frustrating.
The printer didn’t report any error codes just a constant message saying “Out of Media – Load Media to Continue”.
It even showed the video on how to Load Media, just in case the customer had forgotten how to do it.
To an experienced engineer, this is not a major problem and indeed was soon resolved when I visited.
Simply removed the rear entry plattern housing to gain access to the obstruction and with a bit of cajoling managed to remove the three stuck paper shards.
Paper loading like a charm now, without the video being played.
Carried out a full service and clean to the machine as part of our Total Care Solution policy.
We don’t only repair the machine we ensure it is fully serviced to prevent any further problem.
Obviously, we can’t legislate against system failures, but we can help to prevent them by removing aerosol contamination from the machine sub-systems.
Additionally, the machine was situated an awkward location due to building restrictions and lack of cabling infrastructure.
As part of our company policy and our Total Care Solution, the machine was configured onto the buildings WIFI network. The customer was then able to relocate the DesignJet into a more suitable location.
This problem was easily remedied simply by setting up the wireless facility on the machine and connecting it to the wireless network.
The customer can now relocate the DesignJet to a more convenient position.
